Fucking linux foundation, bought the CKA exam last year and now they tell you if you take the exam after first of April the cert will only last 2 years instead of 3, wtf is this shit?

God certs are such a fucking scam! yet they are quite valuable if you have them on your cv so you just have to suffer in silence.

Our corp company doesn't even care about certs and won't get extra $$$. Even if you do have a cert, it doesn't mean you have hands-on experience.

We hired a dev with a list of all nice certs (docker, kubernetes, ansible, python, rhcsa), but it took him 3 months to get used to our environment. And he asked for help every week about basic docker stuff. Oh boy.... and he has a smooth mouth, and spitted candy to our manager.

@d00td00t three months isn’t too bad

I've looked over dozens of resumes and I completely ignore certs. Most people at my company do.

I don't care about certs, i don't care about having a master's in computer science, i don't care about where you worked before.

The only thing I care about are the projects you've worked on (and i give bonus points to electronic engineering graduates).

@lungdart companies hiring foreign workers do care about them though.
