So I decided to have some funzies over the weekend. Started XCOM 2. Built a team for a mission, spent an hour customising. Then I spent 3 hours going through and not failing miserably even once. The last fucking part of the mission, my favourite sniper dies after getting hammered in the face with a fucking laser beam. Then I lose control of the battlefield and everyone dies. Start again because I'm NOT gonna lose my awesome sniper!

This game is like designing software, planning deployment strategies, and disaster recovery at the same time. Recommended for all devs!

I am right now resisting that urge to open xcom.
It’s a great strategic game that can swallow time like a black hole.

XCOM is great. I only played 2 for a bit and it seems more forgiving than 1. They always make me think of this video of a guy playing the VIP escort mission where one of his soldiers misses a clear shot, he gets killed next turn, and another soldier panics and kills the VIP. The guy just sits there dumbstruck.

    Classic XCOM.

I started XCOM: Enemy Withing few days ago, and yeah attachment to your squad is real, I hate when I can't save them, I did 3 missions and in each of them my whole squad died, so I was like fuck this and started from scratch

@Audy Yeah it can be a pain. If you get your experienced guys killed, you're soon left with rookies only and of course the missions get harder. It's like losing all senior devs on a team and filling up with fresh juniors :D So best to try and keep them.
