I found out that a major open source project pulled in some of my code for an enhancement I wrote in my own repo. The code was modified some to match the current conventions of the project, but it contains some of my original comments so I know it was based directly off my code. I'm not entirely sure how to feel. On one hand I'm super stoked to know that the maintainers of the project actually looked at my code and included it. On the other, I'm a little bummed they didn't credit me or at least give me a little shout out...

Reach out to ask for credit. I would.

Yeah dude, if you're sure they have used your code in a way or another, you should totally ask them for a shout-out
