just a thought : the advancement in AI is going to result in a lot of porn and fetishes reaching an even higher audience. comparing the advancements in generations :

gen x :
- porn is limited to magazines and comics
- people are crazy about sex but only in their homes

gen y :
- porn as an industry gets established. a few companies with good money starts hiring people and create porn as content.
- the governments are sceptical and puts lots of regulations in this industry resulting in those japenese sensored porns and porn being shared like drugs in market (secretively)
- only the curious people are able to get access porn with lots of hardwork

gen z/curren5 gen :

- porn as a concept is still a taboo in religions and general public , but government is lineant and does not /could not stop its distribution
- porn accessible to anyone with an internet
- content creation no longer a high investment business, lots of small companies and even individuals become content creators
- rule 34 flourishes resulting in a lot of fetishes . wherever there is an idea, there maybe some content creator making a video, comic or art on that idea.

next gen :

- AI creates realistic porn on any idea. the access to such ai models becomes cheap . thus anyone who is a consumer can become a producer, resulting in even more content generation
- since ai can use non real people to make porn, the stigma around porn reduces and mature content gets more mainstream ( r rated movies getting family friendly ratings)
- rise of hate porn, deep fakes, resulting in either the concept of hate porn getting less audience , or direct decrease of extroverted professions ( no real actors/actresses to shoot movies)

just some thoughts around porn lol

It’s cool people have more sexual freedom and all, but I feel like porn itself is a pretty harmful vice, especially on developing minds and those prone to mental illnesses.

"only the curious people are able to get access porn with lots of hardwork" huh??? In gen Y?

Gen Y are people born between 1981 to 1996. In the 80s even small towns had video renting shops with adult sections. In 2000 porn was already very accessible on the internet - when I was in 5th grade boys from my class changed all the screensavers in the computer lab to nude women....You could easily download porn from emule and such in early 2000s and by 2007 you already had PornHub.

    What are you talking about?

Doesn't even have to be realistic, and it can evolve based on the tastes of the individual viewer.

    Philosophically very interesting.

And the inevitable release of politicians' AI porn prompts will be hilarious.

I think this will result in people wanting to experience their fetish for real. This will increase human trafficking and sex crimes.

AI porn has to become so real and varied to make it a hot. Otherwise, it will only be a niche category

But true. The timeline tells us that porn has become more accessible every decade or so. Future looks very grim

@NickyBones i mean internet rates were pretty high, those videos will be low quality 3gpp that you would have to download based on a static thumbnail, and CD based porn would be hard to watch if you don't have a personal room in your home. a lot of friction.
pornhub was a big advancement in porn tech for gen z lol.
just open the damn website and you van watch videos. and the gamification by gifs/thumbnail videos has increased the screen time by hours for porn watchers instead of 5-10 mins ( don't ask me for the sources of my umm research)

@dotenvironment I didn't say it was 5K porn, I said porn was accessible. And it was. Even if you didn't have you own room, boys waited until their parents went out and had a jerk off party with their friends.

I was born in 1990, I have an older brother, I've seen it all happening in real time.

CD porn was already a huge advancement, I'm remember VHS.

And PornHub is a Gen Y thing. The average Gen Z-ier was like 5 years old when PornHub started blowing up. OnlyFans is a Gen Z thing.

@NickyBones imma have to disagree by saying it’s wayyyyy more accessible than it used to be 10 years ago lol. You don’t even know the fear of looking up porn on the family computer and diligently committing images to memory for the next month as you frantically check to see if anyone is going to come home before you absolutely nuke the browser memory

@Demolishun ah, just like videogames increased gun violence, and tabletop RPGs increased satanism and occultism.

@shovethisrant My point was that porn was available to every teenage boy in developed countries, from the 80s and for sure during the late 90s and early 00s. The vast majority of boys saw porn videos before the age of 18 in Gen Y.

I didn't say today porn is less accessible than in the past, I just disagreed that accessible porn is a Gen Z thing. It was a gen Y thing. Today it's even more prevalent, but it was here before.

It will become boring. But it already is.

Maybe it will just stay and flood the media and internet like bad pop music nowadays.

@shovethisrant apparently it does the same thing to the brain as drugs

I like tiddies, this is good.

@localpost I got curious and looked around at a few studies. It seems like a huge mix of results. One thing that stuck out though was that for the average porn consumer it does not increase crimes. However, it did find that people who had a propensity for sexual violence did consume porn with a sexual violence bent. Which might increase violent outcomes. But studies of whole countries have in many cases shown a decrease on the whole population. So it sounds like catering to the extreme as a product is not a good idea. But catering to more healthy attitudes toward sex would be better. I guess I don't know what violent porn is. Why would someone watch that?
