I only learned what this was the other day. Strangely feel normal now. For the record I do suffer from this! 😁

first you need to realize that you're only human, and that 99% of other developers are too. second, focus your time and energy on two things: what gets you through the day at your job, and whatever you believe will be your stepping stone to the next part of your career. don't let yourself become distracted by the latest tech fads or what your co-workers tell you that you should be doing

chrizzle7269yI've definitely got it. It might be part of being a good developer.
The devs I know without it are almost exclusively Cowboys. -
yeah, to be clear, I definitely have it, it's just something you'll have to be aware of. I think imposter syndrome just a natural result of wanting to be great and hold yourself to a high standard... many creative professions have the same problem, as any novelist will tell you

SOMEONE PUT THE THING INTO WORDS FOR ME. I'm self-taught so this plagues me like crazy.

I experience the flip-side: I'm not sure how bad I am, but I figure I'm at least as qualified as your moron coworker is. I'm a self-taught coder too, with loads left to learn and zero frame of reference, but I try to measure up from the bottom, not down from the top. just makes life easier.
Serious question. Who out there does NOT have imposter syndrome? How do I get to that place?
