until the nineties it was 1-2 jobs until you retire... today you usualy change jobs every 3-4 years.

Root685903yI've gotten exactly one raise in my life, but I switch jobs (and therefore get a raise) every 6-18 months, so.
Just remember that if you're not getting regular raises and there's inflation, you're effectively getting a pay cut.
