This morning i received an email from the boss reporting their record breaking profits for 2024 by now

1.8B €

Then for other subprojects

27B €
21B €

Etc

All net profit. More than about 130B € profits just in these first 5 months of 2024

This made me realize

My 17€ an hour (GROSS income not even NET) Is pennies. Im working to literally make someone else rich

I gotta switch sides and code some crypto coin to scam people for millions asap and see how its like living like those bosses for once

so your response to "the system is garbage" is "let's make the system even more garbage, as long as there's a chance i'm no top of the creapheap".

    you little ferengi.

@tosensei he's just playing a character, I consider none of this legit

@Hazarth yeah, thing is: it doesn't matter if you make everything worse because you _are_ an asshole, or because you _convincingly play_ an asshole.

@tosensei exactly im at the top of the foodchain

@b2plane considering how strongly you are focused on your "enormous shits", you have to be pretty close to the bottom.

that's what most jobs are. They always need to make money off of you to survive, sometimes the tip of the scale goes too far in either direction.

    Thats apple numbers.

@magicMirror That's what I thought. Do we conclude @b2plane is working in an Apple store?

    alternatively,

@jestdotty none, because in a capitalist system, there are no moral companies. but i think it's not worth the effort to try to explain to you how "actively WANTING to make the system even worse just to get on top" is different from "just being stuck in the system and trying to make the best out of it".

@jestdotty please, tell me, where did i mention - or imply - in any way i'm a communist?

i believe i tried (and failed) several times before to explain to you that "saying one extreme is crap" does not automatically mean "the other extreme is great".

@jestdotty yes, but it's a little bit too complex to break down into one single association with an abstract group like "communists".

so details about it would only confuse you.

I feel the same but to be honest

It’s irregular that a ”normal employee” would be paid a percentage of profits.

Unless you were part of a startup with stock options as part of your salary.

To some extent I would feel it would be unfair if me and another dev made a vast difference based on one of us working for a company that struck gold

@jestdotty perfect example of why it's a waste of time trying to explain this to you. your mind doesn't seem able to grasp more than two nuances of any topic.
