My company just installed app-operated locks in all doors. Let's say that I have a hard time taking security policies now.

    In case of fire:
    - open the app
    - log in with your credentials
    - go to section "doors"
    - search the door you are in front of from the drop-down menu
    - tap "open"
    - wait for the request to complete. If the request don't complete because the servers are also on fire, try again later.
    - ??
    - leave building

In case of a database breach: have fun.

Haha, we had that too. It was terrible. There's no more uncomfortable way to open a door with an app. But also I worked for somebody who controlled lights with an app. Half of the time he worked in the dark. Then he made an IoT light switch. The innovation!

What if, and just hear me out, a fire destroys the router? Or anything network related?

@Ranchonyx not sure if that thing has own connection, the administration of ours went trough an online page. So, it came with subscription. A subscription door key, even worse than subscription door bell

Fortunately from the inside it can be opened with a mechanical release.
