@Lensflare idk, but I believe it can swim right out when it eventually deflates. The size difference between inflated and deflated is crazy.
Swallowing a pufferfish is a terrible way to go out if you're a marine predator. The damn thing immediately inflates, blocking your throat. Its spikes dig into your flesh, preventing you from spitting the damn thing out. As you struggle, spikes inject venom, and you die.
