Suddenly, everyone is switching to OpenSUSE, have I missed something?

Still a Windows user :P
but for Linux I'm on Ubuntu, do I need to switch distro?

I went to an open software conference a couple of months ago, and Open SUSE had a considerable collection of swags. I guess it gained a fair bit of popularity, no idea why.

You dont need to switch, if you like Ubuntu there is no reason to

@Linux Never will actually, it is a simple os for an end user + their server is also simple for a non sys-admin user, I got some hard times working on CentOS at work :\

I like openSuse Tumbleweed because of its rolling-release model while it's still pretty stable in my experience and almost everything works out of the box.

Otherwise Fedora is cool as well. I often switch distros but somehow I always go back to openSuse.

Nope, OpenSUSE Leap is a shit. I used it for 6 months, it's full of bugs and too old (and in some cases unstable) packages. Switched to Fedora

@Linux I haven't used tumbleweed. I tried it but it's more unstable that the demonized arch

I use Tumbleweed since July and there wasn't any problem so far(except one I caused myself).

@Linux Yeah, I chose my current laptop particularly for Linux, so it works nicely with almost everything except Debian.
