    in my experience, the employers don't want you to spend time on that stuff because they can't see any tangible production. you're not doing anything new, so unless the boss knows what coding is about, they won't bother

    I had that, then management got annoyed that my team doesn't have any visible output and gave us features.

    You can have this one app I inherited from incompetent programmers.

    @lorentz this is when it gets juicy.
    You have to navigate the shitshow codebase to update features. But you never get time to make it not shit and suicide inducing.
