netikras3519695dCould it be an upstream network device ir burning your wan port?
This calls for an inspection imo -
nemetepst13794d@Demolishun Shit dying from a random power outage? Yep, this has never happened to me before
-
nemetepst13794d@netikras The network map to the router is: Modem -> Switch 1 -> Switch 2 -> Router -> My PC
-
netikras3519694d@nemetepst I've seen a single bad switch port flooding the whole network and bringing it all down.
What I mean to say - it happens.
If your new router's wan port goes tits up as well -- you know what to blame.
Once is by chance, twice is a coincidence, three times - that's a pattern -
Demolishun3481694d@nemetepst I had a power outage kill a HDD once. It was the Linux side of my work dual boot laptop.
I don't rant about shit often, I need to get this out of my head.
So I purchased two Linksys routers about 2 years ago, and in the span of this month both of them effectively died after power loss...
They still kinda work, but both stopped detecting internet so because it's kinda their job to do that.. they are useless at this point
The models are WRT 1900ACS and MAX-STREAM AC1750
---
Now for the tin foil hat stuff - they both had 2 year warranties, that expired a few months ago, maybe planned obsolescence?
