The truth has to be spoken - and specifically interns and trainees need to hear it, understand it - it helps their resilience against managers being rude and mean ;-)

So first of all this isn't about someone I work with 😅 I go to a social coding group, a few people are working on learning DSP and someone shared some signal generation/noise generation code.

I'm now rewriting it to be better

It wouldn't trigger me in any way but i do expect explanation afterwards. Also, is it shit in case of performance or coding style. Depends where i've put focus on.

Side story: our lead dev was openly complaining about a collegue. The manager came in and asked "Who is the bad one". Lead says name -> next day this outsourcing candidate was fired. It was very sad - he kinda is fired by one or two bad pull requests

@retoor they're also presenting it as something for others to learn from. I know a fuck load more than them, which is why I know it's wrong, but they're not seeking feedback they're telling others what to do with it/how they should use it
