Tounai133574d@electrineer it’s a brand new one. 3k laptop just to not be able to go above 60Hz on my screens (and 30 if plugged in USB-C) and having to reconfigure my keys one by one

12bitfloat939274d@electrineer Oh come on, they might be overpriced but since they switched to ARM they actually have advantages over windows laptops

Tounai133574d@12bitfloat fuck CPU architecture if I have to remap my keys and not be able to use my screen at full capacity. And if it’s truly what I want, I have a few raspberries.

12bitfloat939274d@Tounai Why did you buy it then? Or is it a work one?
Anyways, they have way better battery life, better power management, often better screens, likely way better cpu performance, etc
Apple Silicon Macs are actually not bad -
Tounai133574d@12bitfloat of course I didn’t buy it. MacBooks are my nemesis. Maybe it is good on the paper but I don’t want to be limited. I don’t need the battery since it’s plugged all the day closed. I need my keys to work and I need to be able to use my screen at 100%.

Demolishun3467074dI had heard Apple cherry picks performance in comparison to PC to make the Arm look better than it is. Like the video stuff is supposed to be top notch on Apple Arm, but other stuff is not. Intel does this too I suspect. I know they made a shitty library a while back. The library made Intel CPUs look better than competitors. The problem was the library was a defacto standard for use in benchmark software. So maybe they all a bunch of lying SOBs.
MacOS and their custom keyboard layout drives me crazy. I will have once again to remap keys.
