My freelancing horror story?

I remember like it was yesterday. It was late at night and I was doing some freelancing. (You know... the good stuff...)

All of a sudden the light began flickering, it got really cold and I felt like something was watching me!

OMG! SOMETHING JUST TOUCHED MY SHOULDER! I TURN AROUND AND...

...nothing. Nobody was there.

"I really need some sleep", I think to myself and turn back to my monitor.

Wait a second, what's that?
"10%..."
"20%..."
"60%..."

Oh my god...
How could this happen to me?
Those bastards got me after all!

I just witnessed...

A WINDOWS UPDATE!!!

The end~

That last part got me... I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight.

I should not have read this while waiting for my lunch order. ๐Ÿคจ

10/10 would be scarred shitless again

(Gotta love autocorrect's innocence, it though I meant shirtless ๐Ÿ‘•)

The Update Orchestrator will not be denied. It will not rest till it gets you.
  • 3
@irene I think it's absurd that at a certain point you can't even decide whether to update or not anymore.
  • 1
    r/nosleep ๐Ÿ˜…
  • 2
@irene Of course you can but it's not user friendly anymore
  • 1
@irene The problem is how Windows forces The Update on the user with absolutely no regard to open applications and unsaved work / tabs. There's an annoying finality to it that makes sure you can not be at peace or leave your pc unattended.
It's always lurking in the dark waiting to strike when you least expect it.
    It is terrorizing.
    Horrifying.

@irene I just realized that you're the inconspicuous master of one cup. I've been fascinated with the idea ever since I read about it (when I could only read the rants here). I've tried to do it twice but always failed. ๐Ÿ˜

@irene I don't know if you've shared it but I have already done that. Disabled the task and the sinister Update Orchestrator. But not everyone knows that. Average users just run about with their heads on fire.

    @irene
    I understand your point.
I am way too tired to argue more.

    It's just a joke.
    Not the best one...
    Nothing to get angry about.
  • 1
@irene lol you're right but it doesn't take away from the fact that some idiot decided it's okay to restart a system without permission.
It just doesn't make sense and thus the rant.
The newer people will perhaps be the ones ranting more about it. But that doesn't mean you don't get to rant about the excess of rants on the same thing. That also allows me to rant on your rant of exceesses. Feel free to rant on my rant on your rant of excessive windows update rants. ๐Ÿ˜
