@balte couldn't agree more. Companies need a CV to see a a brief of your experience. Then in the interview they will validate you do or do not fit for the job. I have never been asked about my education in all my serious interviews. My LinkedIn profile gives a brief view of my experience and in the interview I can support it.
to all of you out there scared to get into a Dev position because of no formal education:
I don't have any finished formal education, just a bunch of experience from pet projects and free lance here and there. I applied for a position this morning, got an email before the afternoon with an invitation for an interview!
companies are looking for brains, not pieces of paper. just take the jump and try!
