I am wondering what secure app do you guys use for texting/voice/video.

I know Signal but I am looking for something that uses a username like devrant instead of a phone number.

    I personally use Telegram, but just like @linuxxx said, it leaves metadata unencrypted even if you enable E2E encryption.

    @HAlex And even the end to end crypto exists out of a broken crypto protocol :/. Yup I'm a signaller all the way.

    You could look into Riot or Wire maybe? (@drant)

    ChatSecure doesn't use phone numbers :)

    or if you don't want to use tor, wire seems a good open-source alternative. (wire.com)

    Thanks. I've tried Wire sometime back. The voice quality was kind blowing but it kept dropping calls. I'll give it another shot.
    Riot first though. :)
