    Scratch needs to die already.

    @Michelle why?

    code.org should die, and that will never become popular.

    Ya drag and drop coding is popular. Has been for years. Like at least since visual basic 6 or was it 3. No. DotNet. basic ya no pascal thats it.

    i know it was popular for years but i never saw something like that used in industrial environments like software companies. imagine a company developing it’s server side with “visual java”, which will be similar to scratch.

    i would be happy if there was a real good javaScript visual programming gui that is actively maintained and a pleasure to use. With the look and feel of git kraken.

    @heyheni yeah, i think that visual programming lets you put more time into the structure rather than syntax, more efficient in my opinion

    @kimailis Because no matter the UI/Syntax for programming, the programmer needs reasoning and logic and an understanding of data structures to be effective.

    Anyone who has these skills will eventually (and likely quickly) forego any drag-and-drop interface in favor of better tools.

    The only people who will continue to use such tools are the same people that use Wix, Scratch, etc. Additionally, these tools substantially increase the difficulty of making anything remotely complex.

    So, no. There's nothing to "lose your shit" over. It's mildly amusing at best, and kind of sad overall.
