I'm looking for a good 10 inch laptop to run Linux. Standard size keyboard. I'd prefer atleast 4gb of ram and a quad core. Any recommendations?

Specs won't meet your needs, but look up Pinebooks.

@teganburns I've been looking at some. But I have one currently and the lack of I/o and no USB c to adapt to any port has kept me from buying one.

"Quad core". I assume you want to have some good CPU but this isn't a good standard to look for.
Most of the shitty atoms are quad cores while the quite decent core i3 is a dual core.

@icycrash - If you're looking to get computational power, be prepared to rip your kitchen sink out of the wall and drag it with you everywhere you go. I went on a rant about this awhile back, see:

Of course, the above is only for those who want a decent laptop but could give a fuck less about gaming. However, you stated you wanted Linux, sooooo...yeah, good luck either way! My outlook on the market above is only my opinion, do with it what you will.

Solution to buying a laptop for work, coffee/lunch place & home:

Buy two workstations. One for the office, one at home. Then, at the coffee shop drink coffee, eat a piece of pie, read a newspaper, relax and don't think about code for a bit.

Pros: better modular upgradable hardware, lighter backpack, nicer keyboards, large monitors, peace of mind. Cons: none.

I have to admit I'm pretty hyped about the Purism Librem & Samsung Linux for Galaxy projects though.

@JustKidding I'm not needing alot of performance. Just wanting 4 threads. For heavy work loads I got my Ryzen 1700x in my desktop or my razer blade 2016.

@icycrash I cannot see what benefit you get from 4 threads that are slower than two threads even if optimal parallelization is achieved.

@icycrash probably. Go for the other requirements and then look what CPU you get. If you have different choices google them. More cores is often not better, especially for low end CPUs.

@JustKidding I'm not looking for crazy performance. That's what the i7 in my Razer blade is for. Big battery life and small size are probably the most important ones. Followed by a type c connector since I got a type c dongle with every port I'll need.
