retoor18741dI think this was supposed to be a comment? Anyway, I use vim even more than vscode too. I know 60 shortcuts as a ninja because of my very badly written training app making you a ninja in a few days: https://molodetz.nl/retoor/...
It will learn you replace, eol, word skipping, copy, paste, insert line above, under etc.
While redicilously badly written, it does exactly what it should do very well.
Thanks to vim, the AI making summaries of my keylogger output is like "wow". It recognizes it.
60 shortcuts available iirc. -
retoor18741d@antigermanist no, what's that?
I do have a statusline issue btw. I want it to show output of an app but it always fucks up my terminal. It doesn't matter which app. It only happens to source files, not to regular files. I think it's the autocompletion together with executing the app or so. Statusline gets updated every keypress. -
retoor18741d@antigermanist i'm now trying smth hot in the linux world: ghostty. So far it's alright but it boots a bit slower than xfce4-terminal but it looks really nice. It's easy with shortcuts (but i have those configured in bash already actually, if i do ctrl+g I can ask chatgpt stuff, ctrl+p opens recent projects in vscode, ctrl+l connects with server directly) but also can show all open terminals in a tiled view. It has built in the tmux-ish panes and nice ctrl+enter full screen shortcut. I'm a bit conservative in replacing good tools with others so i made ghostty my default (ctrl+alt+t) and (super+t (also an default of xfce)) the original terminal. Better prepared than sorry :D

also i dont have gpu acceleration i think xD i could never manage to install the right plugin from my card. I have a geforce 710 i think. Apparently its only some old driver and i could never make them work.

retoor18741d@antigermanist nah, i have the ghostty as default now and as you said - i probably don't give a fuck enough either. Same for me with browser -> i don't notice any difference between them.
Ah, you use i3 huh? Why not up your game by using dwm? I really wanted to use something else than default xfce - want to be an unicorn - but i actually use every feature of it and I actually do move windows around what i like, tiling is not my thing at all. So, i'm a bit basic that way. While i really like the dwm concept. It matches the preference of customizing / building everything myself. But I can't imagine smth better than xfce. -
@retoor i3 is great because it's very low conf. It just does the job without all the DE bullshit. When I need to I still use xfce tooling though so you could say it's basically built on top of it.

retoor18741d@antigermanist why do only use the devrant.molodetz.nl for porn and not for this 😂
Edit: wow, an animated gif on dr?
@retoor
The beauty of vim is that I'm using it either bare or within vscode for ever (I think it was back in montreal when i was unemployed, or maybe in ireland, cant even remember), and I'm still learning.
You can jump through file by using caps mark.
do MD, open another file (i use fzf) and then you can come back using 'D. This is fucking great and i feel very stupid for not knowing it.
I just wish i could use vim within firefox
