You need a better customized and compact PC.
I think you need to go china web and try searching.

My previous office got 2 boxes literally compact version the size of kids lunch box. 15cmx15cmx4inches

    Configs
    i5
    8 GB
    100 GB
    Wifi lan

Cost : i dont know but my manager said its cheap.

Used it for blockchain and still running 24x7

@zokazavevu I'm Chinese but I don't have resources to buy cheap pc 🤦‍♂️

@TripingPC was considering Intel nuc. But by observing the one in our office. There are poorly designed, and getting hot quite quickly, and not CHEAP

Low ram or slow CPU power? Does it use all 4 cores? Well banana pi has more options also rock64 if you just need more memory or better Ethernet.

@ilikeglue you might right. I heard about banana pi. Does it have newer release?

@ilikeglue oh geez. Banana pro and banana pi are made by different companies 🤦‍♂️

I can't imagine why a Raspberry it's slow for your purpose. I use my RPi 3 as a full web server (Apache, PHP, MariaDB), SFTP and VPN at same time 24/7 connected via Ethernet to the router and a power supply of over 5A. A little overclocked and of course the VRAM at minimum. Works great under 10 users at same time.

@TripingPC nuc has a celeron j3455 DDR3 version looks perfect for me. But we got an in one in the office to run our demo. It's getting very hot and you can feel it leaks static electricity😨

@TripingPC the one in the office has i7, 16g ram,and ssd. Basically idle, boss uses it for video meeting sometimes. We don't switch it off. We don't switch off any computers...

@TripingPC It's cheap enough, and I got spare DDR3 rams.

@sunfishcc well I don't know what Banana pi has but I've heard that they have faster ones too. Personally I use a pi 3 though and it works nicely for around 5ppl

@ilikeglue I had a pi 2 and still got it. The internet speed via a usb wifi adapter was nightmare. I'm sure they fixed this in 3. Ordered cheapest NUC already. Let's see how it works

    BeagleBone?
  • 1
@PrivateGER ordered a cheapest NUC with 4 core celeron CPU 😀
  • 1
@sunfishcc well yeah poor pi is sharing the Ethernet with the USB bus so you're kinda limited there... Well as far as I know both rock64 and banana pi had ones with gigabit +usb3 though.

Update: got nuc but super disappointed. It doesn't have M2 slot! I got a 120gb ssd can't be installed. WTF

So I have to take a 2.5 hard drive out from my pile of hard drive boxes

@TripingPC oh geez. Is it in the box? Where is it?!😨

    @TripingPC I can't. it's Friday, I'm in a small town. The computer shop don't do delivery on weekend...🤦‍♂️

@TripingPC trying have some fun during weekend with Linux 😢

    You know I'm joking right?!

@TripingPC tried a normal hard drive. Won't start. Seem has to be DDR 3L rather than DDR3 🤦‍♂️

@TripingPC there's nothing to trouble shooting with. Can't see BIOS. Completely black. No beep...

@TripingPC placed order. Spend 86 dollor and downgrade from 8gb to 4gb 🤦‍♂️

@TripingPC I don't wanna potato pi, so I spend 4 times more to get a potato.
    Hello potato

@TripingPC I already toss my coin into the ocean. Btw, they don't shipping on weekend, and it take 1 day to delivery. So, the easiest time I can have it will be on Tuesday.

@TripingPC Idk the L in DDR3L is stand for low voltage. I thought it for Large 🤦‍♂️ God damn it
  • 0
@TripingPC Nah. It's another random joke.
    I Googled it.
Most people say it's OK to use DDR3 on DDR3L slot, but sometimes it can only support 1 ram. And many ram support duo voltage.
My spare ram came out from Dell, made by SK hynix. I know it's DDR3, but it's hard to know the specifications
