Prior to becoming a dev, one of my numerous jobs was working at Quiznos. They would often send me outside in the cup costume where I would dance around like a fool.

People would throw things...

What was your pre-dev "career"?

    I was a bartender while I attended college until I got a course development consultant position my sophomore year. Some times, I wish I could go back to bartending; it's entertaining; but then I look at myself when I'm a drunken buffoon and think, "why would anyone want to deal with this lunacy every night?"

    Worked at a cinema. Rotating shift between selling tickets, F&B and being an attendant.

    Pros: Access to all movie halls, projection room, unlimited F&B, free tickets, intel on new movies, freebies, etc.

    Cons: Weekends, school holidays & public holidays. Especially the week of Christmas & New Year's. Pure chaos and night shift usually ends at around 3-4am.

    But man, it was fun 😆

    Currently working in a warehouse while I self-learn. Aiming to land something in six months minimum time. Am I being unrealistic or is this a reasonable time frame to allot myself?

    Worked as a team lead/projectionist/AV specialist at a movie theatre. Sometimes I miss the free movies, but I'll never miss the $10/hr

    Waited tables, loved the lifestyle but glad to have the steady hours of the dev life.

    @shittywebdev

    Pushing hard enough that it's annoying the wife with how much I'm on the computer.

    I had a couple.

    My grandfather was a master electrician so I worked under him a lot in my life. Mostly in high school.

    After high school my girlfriend of 5 years dumped me in am awful way. I decided that I needed to get out of that town, and my best friend was a supervisor at a Private Security Contractor firm. I did that for awhile... I spent 5 months in Iraq then got hurt real bad so I came home.

    I needed a job after I came home so I ended up becoming a overnight manager for McDonald's
