Do you always make sure to understand the basics/fundamentals of a technique/solution/tool/.. you're using ?
I don't do it all the time and I feel that it's something I should do more often (or always?).

    @Franboo That's one more reason to learn more about it prior to using it I guess.

    In my experience, it's a bad idea to use something that's not well (enough) documented.

    I don't but I should. Especially for older open source tools that are well documented, there's really no reason not to learn them properly (besides time constraints...)
