What??? 300 bucks?
Mine costs less then 20 bucks (3M noise blockers) plus 10 euros Bluetooth earphones...
I won't even give 50 bucks... And anything above your paying more for the brand that the product... Unless it's painted gold -
Brolls31557yI got myself a B&O H8 a number of years back. Still going strong. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made.
-
I just bought some for $80 and I agree that it was money well spent. Apparently I missed the office singing Happy Birthday to someone the other day.
-
@RodrigoF Depends tbh. I definitely hear the difference between my 50.- and my 350.- headphones. But that's probably mainly because my 350.- headphones are hooked up to a DAC.
But I'd say for most people who mainly listen to mp3 on a phone or laptop, 50.- headphones are money well spent. -
jenghann2807yMine is bose qc25 and i was actually talking about "active noise cancelling". Even if you don't listen music, it's preventing %90 of background sound. You need to try to see difference
-
@RodrigoF if they are going to take decades of use every day, why not spend a decent amount?
-
brownirl787yRunning my Arctis 7’s from steel series. Head phones the best investment you can make for retaining your sanity from those coworkers who just don’t know how to shut their ass and do their work.
-
chaddhag877yI have ATH M40X and it's also the best money on headphones I ever spent. They are so damn good and blocking the world out and letting me code in peace.
-
@electrineer I have a very good brand headphones and only costed €30 (less then 40$), I just think its to much money, it's like buying a Samsung while you can pay half for another phone with the same specks, we're paying to much for branding, and the more we do the more expensive shit gets
-
@RodrigoF I'm certain there's more than the brand between 30€ and 300€ headphones. At least if it's not Dr. Dre.
30€ headphones can be good enough for most people but they will not have the most accurate sound or the best materials. -
@Brolls I am planning buying one of new H8i or H9i. Look really cool. Any problems with your H8 so far?
-
kamen69957y@jenghann How well does noise cancelling work for people talking around you? I know it's very effective against mostly static noise like city traffic or the sound of a train/aircraft when travelling, but not particularly good against more articulate sound. Isn't most of the work done by passive isolation from the headphones just sitting on your ears (with no music and with NC turned off)?
-
chaddhag877y@kamen i have ATX m40x and they can pretty much block even the people talking beside you ( provided that the music is playing)
-
Brolls31557y@argorain nope! Went for the over ears for a change and wasn’t disappointed. Actually got these after buying the wireless bose ones and not getting on with them.
Only slight issue is that walking with ANC enabled leads to some popping where the vibration from your feet is throwing it off.
But I find they’re loud and sealed enough to not need ANC on when out and about, but it shines sat at a desk and on public transport.
And a 14 hour battery with ANC enabled is a super bonus! -
jenghann2807y@kamen u re right. It is very effective on static noises like air conditioner or hardware noise. But it s not working effectively on dynamic sounds. But believe me, office talks are like very far from me. So it is not dusturbing
