Back end webdev is lame. Take the sec class instead. If you really want to learn backend webdev then it's enough with 2 hours of YouTube tutorials.
-
@PaulTheSaltyDev Well I've gotta take both in the end lmao and it's a security class, but it's more of a security with the aspect of a business perspective. I just wanted to take it while one of my favorite professors is teaching it.

I’d take security.
Backend is something you can learn pretty much by yourself IMO. I think security doesn’t have such a big „beginner“-community that supports you, so you need to know some basics. -
Crost40747yBusiness security will make you want to kill yourself. Don't let people hang around and look at your screen behind you, don't leave your machine unlocked DUURRRRRR don't send passwords in emails.

Had a similar course about cyber security. The lecturer kept on telling us that soon even our toilets will be connected to internet and laughed that they will do DDOS attacks etc. He thought he was being funny. No-one else laughed in the auditorium. Still he told this "joke" at least 3 times a week.
But related to the actual topic: I'd go for the backend course. You can actually use it for something during the year and take the security course next year. -
@unmarked @just8littleBit Backend class is required, so it's going to happen at some point.
I just want to take it next semester because I'm fixing to finish the front end class and I want to be able to take on easy freelance jobs to pick up quickish and easyish cash lol -
@jhh2450
Well if you currently visit a frontend class it can only get better no matter what. 🤪
But this is only my opinion of course.
I want to take a security class and a back end web development class next semester, but I'll likely only be able to take one. Fml I hate having to choose between two things I really want lol
