    Ha. Yeah I had a dual boot setup and a habit of leaving the computer on over night, typically to compile..

    Woke up to the sight of windows 10 attempt update , overwrote the boot loader & failed with error 0xc000000f..
    Btw It's an uefi install.

    What I have tried:
    Single out the disk,
    Repair bcd,
    Chkdsk,
    Automatic repair,
    Verified smart status..

    Oh well at least I can recover the Linux distribution.. Went as easy as easy as reinstall grub2 and update the configurations.. :D

    I installed windows 10 first then Linux 2nd as well.

    The other way around is a pita.

    Windows 10 just decided It wanted monopoly for whatever reason.

    @lotd it works fine both ways, you just have to make sure to keep your partitions right before starting with installing windows

    @pretz i know.
    I have my Linux system reside across multiple disks and Windows on a single dedicated disk..

    But yeah, I believe it's because windows doesn't recognize Linux..
    Still pretty annoying it had to go and override the efi bootloader entry .. :D
