Coming back to devRant after a couple of years and going back to reading my OG posts.
Nice feeling to be back here. :)2

So glad to be back guys. *misses a bracket*

I think I was always meant to code. And even though I started late, I have never been bored of doing it. Since I have started writing code, it's one thing that has driven me like travelling to another dimension. Time flies when you code. And moreover for sometime you forget all the stress in this world and concentrate on the stress you've created. 😂
When I wasn't a part of IT during the beginning I used to be working on Back office operations.
My team leader was such a motherfucking asshole!! He rarely ever worked, always came late and gave all his work to the asskissers in the team. He used to drink in his car during breaks and also leave before anyone. The only positive was he didn't give a shit about who took leaves and when.
Once he came to office drunk and warned me of getting me fired, which he never could. I probably felt like ripping him off then and there and escalating it to the HR.
I didn't. As Karma would have it, his manager changed and the moron had to get his team changed.
This Collab thing is so interesting. I have come back to devRant after a long time and its so very nice to see some insane ideas floating around here. This app is not only about Rants now it is a world of its own. Great work David !!4
Add a Progressive set to my playlist, mostly no earphones, on speakers!
Music calms the world down for me. Then Code, Code, Code until my body sweats and aches while sitting.
Back on devRant!
@dfox I seriously wish some day I will get the squish ball and stickers you mailed me. Haven't got anything yet !!!!
1. Being fast doesn't meant your smart.
2. Think thrice before you apply your idea, saves not only time but your keystrokes.
3. Google is just the last resort, if you can crack it yourself there is nothing better.
4. Cleanliness is Godliness, not that believe in God but if I see you writing shit and messed up code then you gotta do it again.
5. Useless code is important, it will help you get lost later when you come back.
And most importantly, LISTEN.4
Still waiting for stickers and the stressball. I don't think I will ever get it. Been waiting for it like an eternity. 😢2
The worst part has to be you always compromise on your health just because your brain is telling you to solve a code block. You ignore your basic necessities, resulted in irregular patterns of sleep, skipping food and so much more.
Trying to maintain code which was written long back and alot of it has deprecated.
Yes you need to sit your ass down and write the whole thing again.
Using bootstrap I want to create a table so that the thead is fixed and no matter how many rows are generated on loop , the thead will align properly with the tbody. I will keep the thead fixed so that only body will scroll vertically.
So the problem is on a responsive table how do I match the cell alignment and spacing of the head to the body cells.
Have wasted a day on this fed up. P.S on smaller screens I have set overflow to scroll vertically. Please help.10
Today is Diwali or you can say Dipawali. A festival of lights. The whole country celebrates it by lighting up their homes with oil lamps made up of clay cups.
I wish my devRant community here a very Happy Diwali.5
When you write an extra markup just for mobile and after wasting hours you realise that you need to use the same ID on the elements of both versions on the same page thus ending up wasting all the effort.
I swear I felt like washing my brains with soap. Fuckity fuck !
My mother still doesn't know what I do with my laptop, she thinks I either watch youtube or movies. The last day when I faced a code block and stared at the screen for 12 hours, she finally realised I am either insane or something is driving me nuts.
My Brother thinks it's one of the good decisions I have taken in life. Because he sees my interest when I talk about it to him.
Others think I can fix a broken PC or install softwares for them or do typing to get paid.2
When your favorite DJ comes to town but you cannot enjoy him playing live just because you don't have a girl to go with it.
I am done for 2016 already. This is so depressing. Guy J in town.19
I swear on the Almighty nature, I fucking hate Browser compatibility.
Passing php data via JSON encode. Works superfine on Firefox and Android mobile browser doesn't on Chrome. Fucking shit. Been sitting for 13 hours and gave up. FFuuuuuuck !!!!
Form submission via ajax and it again works on Firefox but doesn't on Chrome. I just can't understand, my mind is fucked by all the angels in heaven. Data gets submitted, the form is reset but the function called to refresh the JSON data doesn't work.
Someone please kill me or I swear I will fucking kill everybody.4
Why do programmers need long periods of silence on the job?
I remember the first time I had a code block, I sat on my desk for up to 18 hours trying to fix it. In the end realizing that my impatience is not helping me. It was all in vain. A tired mind did not help.
I finally came to realise that I was lacking on knowledge and a tired brain did not help. I did it the next day but learnt a huge lesson. When it's just not your day, it's not you day. A fresh mind will help next day. Relax, do anything apart from code.
Too much of code can drain you of ideas and smartness. You need to let your mind breathe. Life away from the PC is important too.
Is there any way I can develop iOS apps on Windows? I read about VirtualBox and I already use it to run Linux. Any suggestions? Cant get a macbook right now!9
What an end to a thrilling episode. a good end to the season is here. Feel sorry for them. :( #MrRobot
So RelianceJio is offering LTE at rates as low as $1 for 1GB data. And totally free calls on its internal network. No roaming too. Promo offer including everything free for 3 months.
And me. I own a 3G device. 🤕🤒17
I prefer to have lesser things to my desk except my monitor I connect my laptop to and my speakers and peripherals.
I like my desk to be absolutely as clean as it can get.
