I use my headphones religiously every time I code, as well as for things like tutorials & courses.

I was devastated that the slider switch on my pair of H8s snapped and I could no longer use them wirelessly.

I didn’t want to be without headphones for weeks while they were replaced abroad, so...

Hello upgrade. Hello business expense.

Lovely new pair of H9is.

@dontPanic hand stitched cow hide leather on the band with cushioning on the inside. The cups are memory foam with lamb skin leather and the core construction is 100% brushed aluminium.

Definitely not vegan friendly, but damn do they feel nice.

Same construction as my H8s but these are over ear and I’m enjoying them a lot.

@dontPanic and the right aluminium cup panel is a touch panel for controlling them.

The nice thing is that it isn’t capacitive but rather lots of micro pressure sensors, so if it’s raining and I have my hood up, the panel works through the fabric. 👍

Hey mate, I am really considering those for myself. Sound will be ok, but how about size? I have pretty big head and I am worried about preasure on my ears. Any experience with that?

I need some good cheap wireless headphones any suggestions?

@ewpratten nothing. They all sound like shit

@argorain You can adjust the size :) They're amazing!

@argorain i loved my H8s but they could get a bit clampy after a while as they were on-ears.

I’ve not experienced any discomfort from these though, and I’ve got them retracted all the way as they fit so well on the smallest extension setting.

They’re actually really comfy, and even though they’re heavier I don’t notice it because they’re sitting really well.

The sound is amazing. As with any new pair it always takes adjusting from your previous ones, I find these to be more accurate and offer a wider soundstage than the H8s, the bass is good on these, but it’s a little more natural, so that’s taking some getting used to as the H8s were a bit warmer on the bass.

@Brolls Thank you for notes, I really appreciate that.

@Milenchy actually, provided you get a decently engineered pair they sound pretty dang impressive.

They’re not going to outcompete a 100+ohm impedance open-back pair that you need an amplifier to drive, obviously, but for an on-the-go, stylish performance I haven’t been able to fault my H8s and now this new pair.

Instrument separation is impressive, the frequency response is good, the ANC is damned good and the battery is really good too.

Only real difference I’ve found with this new pair is that as the impedance is slightly higher, they actually sound better wireless with the power on than wired with the power off (from my iPhone anyway); however I imagine wired with the power on would be damn good.

@argorain I’ve been with B&O a number of years now after the usual Apple earbuds > sennheiser > Bose progression.

Hated my Bose wireless pair as they were clunky and ugly and just not that great.

Got a pair of in-ears from B&O and loved them (I got them because I didn’t want to mess my hair with an on-ear... seriously 😂).

I’ve not looked back since going to their proper cans though.

Yes you can get better sounding ones (depending on your taste of sound profile) for less, but the differences are negligible and I’ve yet to find a brand that offers (for me anyway) the complete package.

Plus B&O’s customer support is just amazing.

@argorain no prob. Not sure if they offer it where you are, but the Beoplay website offers a 30 day zero questions return period.

So you could always get a pair, try them out and send ‘em back if you’re not happy 👍

@ewpratten I honestly wouldn’t bother with the “cheap” ones.

Depends on what you’re after really.

If you’re just looking for “reasonable” wireless earbuds then maybe something like the AirPods if you’re an iPhone user?

I’ve treated my expensive headphones (I mean, this pair were £450!!!) as a bit of an investment.

My H8s that were £300 lasted me a good 3 years, so amortised over its lifetime I don’t think it’s so bad, and I use them *all* the time.

@Brolls how do the Hi9 do in rain? I have the Sennheiser PXC 550 Wireless which I enjoy a lot, comfy and great sound, but one thing I'm always unsure of is when I wear them when it's raining.

Mine have passed the test and work great even after proper rain. (I always keep them on so that no water pours into the electronics inside where the sound comes from).

So any experience in that regard?

Also you mentioned you can use it through your hoody. Mine start to navigate like crazy when my hoody gets a little wet. (volume up/down, next song) Then I always wish there was an option to disable the whole touch navigation :'(

(that was also a reason why I used the headphones in full rain instead of under the hoody xD)

    @NuflowX the H8 and H9 (and i variants) aren’t splash proof.

I think that’s mostly because of the leather rather than the electronics though.

My H8s have been in the rain before and been just fine, but I wouldn’t recommend it just in case.

I think that’s why they went with the pressure sensing touch rather than capacitive, because they knew people would want to work it with gloves on / from under a hood etc.

I’ve never had any problems with mine through a soaking wet hood, though I find an umbrella to be a preferable alternative.
