I don't care if it is a good fit or not, for a beginner, but still I'm gonna recommend JavaScript. Believe me! you'll need it, sooner or later.

@corbitblack @corbitblack for the most part that's true. Every language has its own paradigms and idioms specific to that language. Most languages were designed to solve a very specific set of problems, which is why there is no single language to rule them all. JavaScript is a pretty universal language and you can use it to develop web pages, apps, and web servers. It's not necessarily the best language for any of those things, but it works.
