Honestly, I'm tempted as hell to put a glass transparent screen over one of my mirrors and put a proper GUI over it with time, weather, date, appointments, shopping lists, etc. on it, all in the comfort of Rust and an RPI..

Have you tried connecting the LCD directly to the RPi?

@mrgadget not yet. I know is doable but I'm already using the Arduino for other things plus my RPi has a nice enclosure which I'd like to keep in place. ;)

Maybe in the future I run some other display (TFT I'd love) over USB so I can have the best of both worlds.
