Sounds like more of a business analyst position. Maybe they are seeking macros and VBA?
-
Haha, it was not. It was a good old fashioned full stack Web developer with a side of IT position.
But who can code but not figure out how to use software designed for normal office folk. -
Worked at one place, where we got shipments every few days, we would have to go unload trucks for about 30 minutes. I guess it was good to get away from the desk, but sometimes it was bad timing.

philcr30549yI manage IT as well as being Dev for our business we have about 60 end users.
I know the basics of office and don't much care for it. I don't understand why people want devs with extensive office knowledge unless like the guy above says they want macros and stuff. -
I totally agree. on the other hand i work with this one person who is a fucking wizard on excel. like he can get data manipulation from a macro that I didn't think possible. (I haven't learned any of it because it looks so damn boring tho)
When you are reading job requirements for a dev job and they put a shit ton emphasis on MS Office. I remember a phone interview where they asked skill level for Word, Excel and Outlook.
