    "This format can be opened by most managers...

    ... conclusion obtained by studying extensive survey data from my mom, the couple living next door, my cat and my mailman"

    Simply means, "..most of the hiring managers are that stupid"

    If you're applying to a dev job where they can't open PDFs, you're lucky they aren't able to hire you..

    just send them a pdf with the extension of a docx. See if they can figure it out

    I hate those requirements for a CV.

    Usually i don't send at all because i generate my CV with a template in Latex

    Na just because they have problems harvesting information out of a pdf

    I mean... they’re not wrong. Tbh, most of it comes down to the fact that pretty much *everyone* (read: normal people) has office.

    They also tend to highlight CVs / run extraction software before sending them over.

    I’ve had recruiters ask for a word file after I’ve sent them a PDF.

    🤷‍♂️

    @Brolls

    Recruiter uses extraction tool, which means recruiter gets way too many resumes, which means job is generic as heck, which means its not a great place to work at anyway eh? Profit.

    @hashris That was my first thought. By always sending them as pdf, I can easily filter the bad ones out. 😀
