Banele7317yYou seem a bit uncertain, I'd recommend you testing the distro you want on a virtual machine or probably dual boot. Then when you're certain you can do the complete switch.

Personal computers are linux only.
At work I'm forced to use Windows.
Each day I come home from work I know why I made the change.
I will never go back. -
Depends on the use case and programs you always use
Want to game? Keep Windows.
Want to photoshop? Keep Windows. Or get a Mac.
As a web developer that otherwise lives in the terminal and browser, Linux is a stable workhorse I can adopt to my liking. -
stop68027y@brucekira which win programs do you need?
and my duslboot stage lasted 3 years. it ended with the windows 10 beta. -
My office machine which was running Windows 10 was buggy AF, always updating. I installed Ubuntu without second thoughts. Later on I realized that for communicating with clients I use GoToMeeting, which doesn't have any Linux client available for sharing screens. Further digging revealed that they do have a Chrome extension. Worked perfectly for me. Later on found out Zoom have official client software for Ubuntu available.
So it all just depends on what softwares you use and do they have any alternative solutions for Linux.
Need Photoshop - Use Windows
Gaming - Use Windows
Coding - Use Linux/Mac/Windows
Movies - VLC runs everywhere -
mukund3797yIf you're like me who codes and then binges a lot of series, you'll miss windows. Linux is all great but lacks essentially good media apps
Has anyone regretted wiping their Windows PC for Linux? Ive been wanting to wiped my PC for Ubuntu but I don't have the guts to do it. I keep thinking maybe I'll need Windows later.
