Don't work for idiots. There's plenty other jobs out there

It is there are, not there is :D

It's really difficult for people without a lot of experience (ie: the most likely recipients of dev advice) to see the telltale signs of poor management during the interview process.

So while, "don't work for idiots," is a good guideline, it's a bad thing to put someone without experience on the lookout for, as it will give him/her a focus to find and be wary of something he/she can't even effectively identify.
