Found a guy working at Microsoft with this bio.

"Software Engineer at Microsoft. Loves Linux, the cloud, Vim, and DevOps. But mostly Linux"

Like come on Microsoft, even they choose Linux over Windows

Maybe windows is just targeted to normies.

Then again, they fucked it up with windows 10 where you don't even have control over your system and can't even uninstall the facebook app (i'm no windows 10 user but that's what i heard)

Microsoft actually started supporting open source recently,
And they are contributing to Linux kernel !
We can expect major changes in OS ,in comming years

@Nawap i know right, i even made a video ranting about it

@YouAreAPIRate Poweshell can help you to do that I also got annoyed by built-in SKYPE so I removed that shit. Just do some Google. (But I am not in favor of windows)

@YouAreAPIRate which facebook app? I dont have one

@musician from what i've heard windows 10 comes with a few apps bundled by default (or agressively recommends them). Candy crush is another one of them.

@YouAreAPIRate Never experienced that, but there is indeed an option you can turn on so that you get app ads, but you can also turn it completly off.

@FilipeRamalho in the short time my laptop had Windows 10 on it, I can't remember seeing a Facebook app but there was definitely candy candy crush and loads of other crap.

That's one of the reasons I hate it, there's so much crap and you can do absolutely fucking nothing about it.

@DucksCanCode Vendors install that Bloatware for money. Clean Win10 doesn't have it.

Working at Microsoft doesn't correlate with being stupid. The guy is obviously decently intelligent.

@PrivateGER I downloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft and clean installed it. How much cleaner can it be?
  • 0
    @DucksCanCode So did I, nothing pre-installed.

@kpenc yes who said he is stupid, he actually is smart and a decent person, i just found it funny how he loves the other side more

@PrivateGER I've had the same experience as @DucksCanCode , got the iso straight from the MS site and it had candy crush and all that crap in the start menu and a whole bunch of bloatware crap among the preinstalled apps (that I've had to manually uninstall)

Nope they are free to choose anything... On the contrary of apple and google employees and linux nazis

@endor Hm, was clean for me.

The most disturbing thing here is that that person actually likes to use Vim.
  • 2
You don't have to be a hardcore fan of a company to work for it. Shocker, right?

I too used to know software engineers prefering Linux to Windows at Microsoft. They are hired because they are competent, not because they love Windows (that's just a bonus).

@Fradow and don't forget that MS provide services and tools for all platforms
  • 0
@dontbeevil yup, but the ones I used to know was from way before MS change of heart about open-source (during the beginning of Windows Phone, when they still were challenging it). Even at that moment, some Microsoft employees preferred Linux.
  • 1
@Fradow yup also in that case, you can see the difference from apple and google, apple let his employee use only macs, google or mac or chromebook ... MS anything you prefer
  • 2
MS folks are getting more open-minded. There's a reason why ms is now #3 [after amazon and apple]. Even google is now worth less
  • 0
@netikras fun fact apple is 1st, and it's the less open minded, just selling their overpriced fashion stuff, with their closed standards... the power of brain washing marketing
  • 1
@dontbeevil yeah.. But apple did not double their worth within a couple of years recently.. :)

@YouAreAPIRate I never heard that and I have a really old but incredibly good working win10pc. I don't even think there is a desktop Facebook app on the store. I don't like that people say bad shit about windows, because for me it is still a great os.
