This is fucking rediculous.

A client wanted me to make them a image download resistant galary.
They said they had seen some other site that is "impossible" to download pictures from. This just is not true, they were overlaying transparent images over the images.

Two days after I do that, set up everything on their server, and disable hotlinking in their CloudFlare, without being contacted at all, I've received a not-as-described PayPal dispute.

They said someone downloaded their picture and that I said it would be impossible.

How is this possible? The fuck PayPal? I'm going to lose this damn dispute which was gonna pay half of my rent.

PayPal is friendly to buyers, not sellers.

get access their server block their page with a notice about the payment.

Legal disputes are too expensive, and you run low risk since they probably are low revenue anyway.

@Hammster I removed my ssh key on my way out. I'm a Dev, not a hacker.

@Root yeah, I'm seeing that about now

Remove your access only if payment has been made and is non-revokable. This is something i learned from freelancing.

    Also, fuck that client.

You should always include remote disable / kill switches in your code that you can trigger in exactly this sort of scenario. (Removed upon receipt of payment, ofc.) These prevent people from [successfully] scamming you -- and many will try. 😡

@Hammster @Root I should just run a very lax license server. I think I'll get started with that.

Update: I lost the dispute. Lawyering up for fraud.

@Lahsen2016 it may be different when the payment in question is 600 USD

@Lahsen2016 or maybe PayPal is just inconsistent and garbage. Much more likely!
