Am I the only one dumping github?

    Afraid so.
    Github enterprise isn’t going to dry up over night even if the world was full of Anti-Microsoft’s.

    So sure run, run as fast as you can to another VCS cloud, which will probably end in the same result at a later date down the road anyway.

    Plus the open-source community would be a bit hypocritical to now be against a company that has open source projects that many developers them selves use - but that’s not my place to point out I guess.

    Yes.
    Kidding, probably not. But I'll stay at least until I have a concrete reason to leave. I'm not a fan of MS, but I don't really care which company owns GitHub if they don't screw with the service or the users.

    Besides, MS is more open source now than ever, so this acquisition may not be a bad thing at all.

    I dumped it years ago. But now it's about to make its way into my hosts file. Routing it right to 0.0.0.0.

    Some people think I'm overreacting, I disagree.

    @linuxxx why is that?

    Yeah, it’s a bit of an overreaction.

    @lucaspar Because I do that with every service which is owned (or will be) by any company integrated within the prism network :) (yes Google as well)

    Just a personal preference/opinion/ethics/howeverthefuckyoucallit thingy!

    @linuxxx when I think about it.. can't I buy a 100-200$ machine and use it as a git server

    @C0D4 My reasoning to moving from github, regarding MS is not the open source but rarher the slighy changes that they make to their new products which leads me to the same service but with better quality from someone else.

    @funvengeance Sure but a simple Pi would do I think :)

    @linuxxx what if more than 5 people decide to use it?

    @funvengeance No clue, never done it myself so can't answer :/

    @linuxxx I've heard PIs can work as a servers but have hard time when more than 1 user gets hooked
