TEAR ME A NEW ONE PLEASE

chatted with a company about a front end position, they replied that they are interested in me and want me to complete a task. The email subject was "about an internship at a *company_name*"
they later quickly sent me another email saying to to ignore the subject about the internship, and sent more details about the task.

I completed the task and sent it to them.

They replied today with an email stating that I'm too weak for an internship and that I should improve myself and reapply in the future.

It's a little bit of a low blow, I thought we were talking about a full-time position yet you are saying that I'm too weak for an internship? WTF

to say I'm pissed is a little bit of an understatement.

Heres the link to the repo I sent them.
https://github.com/Pionell/koral

They'r task was to mark up a sketch file they sent me, there was no mention to make it interactive. They told me this doesn't need to be responsive. I Think I used too many spans, inline-blocks, and a few wrong floats with images instead of divs with background image set as the image. Tear me a new one and tell me all my mistakes, I want to know what's so bad in this.

added the .sketch file and a png file of the sketch if someone wants to check pixel - perfectness. Hint - pixel perfectness is not there.

@Alice yup, a fun one indeed. Are you a front-end developer by any chance?

@Alice that was my reaction at first too, but I still kept going and finished the task they gave me. Did you check out the repo?

I'm thinking about writing them an angry letter. I don't think I'll ever want to be associated with them in the future, let alone work for them, so I'm not afraid to burn any bridges with the HR girl that did spoke with me or the company. Is that a bad idea? I mean they wasted my time by saying that i'm doing the task for a front-end junior developer position, and later said that I'm too weak to be accepted as an intern. If thats not a spit in the face I don't know what is.

@Alice thanks for the support! I think i'll take a walk, calm down a little bit ant contemplate if the letter is worth it or not.

Dont burn down bridges. Even if they are as shitty as this company.
Dont have much time but imo you should look into BEM. Would cleanup the code a little

    @Alice thats an interesting thought.
Also thanks for the input! I think i'll improve the repo from time to time and keep in in my profile as a a refference. I should probably redo it as responsive. I'm pretty sure the hr girl had a developer look at the finished file. In your opinion, is this too weak for an intern as they said?

@Alice i do know responsive design, and do only develop websites responsivelly. This was a first time i did a non responsove design. They told me it's not necessary to make it responsive, and did not provide a sketch file of how the responsive design should look like, so i thought fuck it, let it be unresponsive.

That’s a lot of nested divs...

@arjaycodes yup, do you think thats bad and it could've been achieved with a lot less divs?

So... You worked for free essentially 😒

@nbamaral seems so, but it's the norm to finish these ''tasks'' to check your level of expertese
