I joined a 1 man company as its sole "all round techie" and had to learn my way around a big old application that was basically turning a VB project into a web browser and doing some interfacing with Windows mobile devices (whose software was written in C#)
suffice to say, I'm glad i was taught using VB in my A-levels (age 17-18 for you non Brits)
