Question.

If you're working remotely- like a whole other country/continent- do you have to give taxes for the country the company is in?

Context. Got a "job". Not sure if I'll take it full time but for now I will be getting some backpay so I want to know everything before deciding and planning

Right now in my country I don't have to pay taxes so I want to know if that still stands

You have to pay in the country you live

Usually there is some agreement with that country on which country you should pay taxes in. If there is no such agreement then it can be that you have to follow both.

Check with your government what deals they have on this topic.

It's usually called double taxation, so what you want to look for is that if there is an exemption for this between your home country and the work country.

look at your governments website and their governments website.
in the EU these kinds of things are generally very well arranged. if you're doing USA to India or something you might be in for a ride.
