I have a colleague who keeps hitting ctrl+S when he's not writing any code. I hit it like twice or thrice myself, but he just keeps at it. Drives me crazy in a fun way. I tried asking him about it, but he just shrugs like it's nothing.

I do it all the damn time.

Ive written like 3 essays for class, so add that with the bit of coding I've done and I'm always hitting ctrl + s.

Better hit that damn saving key thousand times too often than once again the data loss of done work!
If you are in a working flow and code and code... even a system crash that only deletes your last three lines can throw you off the track very hard.

    I do the same!

@bahua I meant you use vim instead of IDEs, which makes you a boss programmer.

I didn't intend any sarcasm in my previous comment. Sorry if it seemed so :/

I always do that when writing something, even on websites. The save menu annoys me everytime.
