What do you guys do when you feel burnt out, and you don't feel like the weekend has actually let you unwind at all? Rinse and repeat week after week.

I might take a day and just goto the lake next weekend, as long as it's sunny.

    I need this advice too.

I hit the gym quite often and that helps, but is not 100% helpful.

Recently seeing friends is kinda meaningless, I used to be taken to a new world and new stuff / perspective that lighten took me away from me. Now they seem stuck in same ideas, that crumble after 10 minutes of examination. So...

Also no GF since 1 month ago

If I feel burnt out I usually try to do as little as possible. Until I'm bored and ready for more.

I usually try to keep good habits like going to sleep on time and eating properly. But other than that. I just try to relax as much as possible.

@carlosjpc Sorry to hear about the GF man :(

I really don't hangout with friends as much as I used to, everyone has kinda moved on to their own thing and new cities. I'm in a small town, recently the gym has changed it's hours so they close before I'm even off work. It doesn't help that it costs over $100/month now, and I'm not too into paying that.

@Bigboo Thats what I try to do aswell, but as of late my body almost feels as if I'm "doing too much of nothing", even with the early nights. I honestly need to find a new way to get to the gym, or find another (I don't think there is another here).

@S-Homles I think that's often the case, and a great option. But sometimes after working on the PC all day, I'm not sure if I'm the only one but sometimes I feel like I just need to do something off of the computer. Not sure if that makes sense.

Thanks for all the interaction guys, was just curious and wanted to get a take on it from some of you guys :D

@Rundle Running is my favorite way of working out. Because you can do it whenever. Just change clothes and start running. Then it's just a matter of learning not to come up with excuses.

@psukys Don't get me wrong, I still go out for a few drinks with friends every couple weeks. I think I'm honestly just too much of a potato on the weekends, need to start being active again :D

@BigBoo Yessir funny you mention it, I'm actually going to pickup some new shoes tomorrow. I used to run daily, then blew out my knee while skiing a few years ago. I'm hoping to give it another try this week :D

@S-Homles Oh you meant at work! Sounds like a good setup dude :D Unfortunately I don't have that option

If you can get away for a day or two then do so. Go to another town.
Do something completly untelated. Craft something for example. Draw. Whatever. Take a few days off if you can.

I have a sort of eh... "honorary/voluntary side job" (roughly translated). Basically a side job where you do work which is considered honorary by the state, meaning it doesn't count towards your normal working hours, but it's a special thing. (One does get a bit of money for it but the amount one gets is limited for the year, 'cause: otherwise taxes... aaaanyway)

This sidejob has nothing do to with computer science, it is something completely different. And whenever I don't have lectures at uni anymore and some free time, I dive into it deeply and learn new skills and knowledge there. It is a good distraction, demanding in its own right, but it's like being in a different world for a while, which is a nice change.
