Watching someone at a conference trying to play a video in their presentation on Windows PowerPoint. It’s painful to see. No audio. They then ripped the video from YouTube. It still wouldn’t play even in Windows Media Player. They’re still fiddling with it while the speaker and audience trade dad jokes. If I hooked up my Mac it would immediately work. How do Windows users live like this?

There have always been Windows users that couldn't navigate a paper bag. The majority became Mac users. What you are seeing is a pre-Mac user.

Anybody with brains just uses VLC for video. I think Office Users are a bit special.

What I don't understand is why they are just now finding out during a presentation. Nobody does dry runs?

The presenter is retired, and apparently he just has a really old PC that hasn’t been updated. But yeah, gotta do a test run before. The venue also isn’t sophisticated enough to properly do audio through room speakers. Have to hold the mic up to the laptop.
