My Gear S3's charger all of a sudden decided not to stop full charge when the watch was at 100%, so I came home to a watch that was flaming hot and going crazy with error messages that it's overheated, battery going down WHILE charging.

Tried it a few more times, never stops at 100% anymore

Samsung you fucking retards, thanks for trying to burn my house down (again)

    Scary?

Also, @Condor may have some advice on battery tender alternatives.

That's why I hate chargers that overvolt to do constant current charging all the way. I can't say for sure without being able to open up the charger and the watch, but it sounds like some vital battery voltage monitoring has failed, and the charger just continued pouring a higher voltage into the battery than what it was able to handle. Very irresponsible of the charger's designers to not go with conventional 4.2V 500mA charging when the sensor pin doesn't connect.

Charger isnt the fault here! It is only a crappy psu. Charging circutry is in the phone. Thats a internal problem.

@Condor I thought you know how that works...

@Gregozor2121 sorry, yeah I was talking about the internal charge controller but I should've made it more clear. To me, anything that puts 5V into the device can charge the device but the real "charger" that's responsible for actually charging the battery is inside.
