When will Microsoft stop ruining good products?
Xamarin was a decent enough platform untill MS got a hold of it. Now, you never know what the next update will break.
Skype is already lost to the MS darkness.

@azuredivay I feel like they are rushing to integrate everything to VS. That is cool, but don't rush it.

Here are some stats: we experimented with Xamarin in VS at school: 10 students. 2 couldn't install it, 3 could never build a project, 2 had very regular build problems (projects that build one time won't build the next time, InitializeComponents not found...). Building a Xamarin project is like playing the lottery...

@Lukas I've experienced very similar issues with it in the real world.

it's finicky to set up for sure. but I haven't noticed a difference with it since the acquisition. it's still just as awkward because of the nature of what it is doing.

Is it actually production worthy? I can imagine that if you are a paying customer, you wouldn't be to happy with this@Treebasher

@Lukas I don't understand what you are asking. The truth is, I was using it as a contracted software engineer for a company (one of many). I got so fed up with spending more time trying to fix the build because of Xamarin than actually developing anything that I broke off the relationship.

Obviously I tried to do so in a civil way. But that experience left such a bad taste in my mouth for Xamarin.

@Lukas for what it's worth: yes, many of the company's clients were using the product in the real world. Development was just a mess.
