First I thought I finally found some public WiFi which isn't unencrypted (Password was on a sign outside).

*Opens WiFi settings*

*WiFi is unencrypted*

Huh? *Connects*

*Sign in page opens up which asks for the password*

Well... VPN is the way to go...

    @devTea you have to enter the password to get internet access, didn't inspect it further

    @Linus at least not everything is sent unencrypted and accessible for everyone who is able to set a WiFi adapter into monitor mode

    Even if it was encrypted, having knowledge of the wpa key (which in this case would be publicly available) helps you decrypt the communication with some wireshark magic quite easily (if it's not asymmetric encryption).

    Does going over vpn bypass the radius server, i mean the webpage login?
