Just watched The imitation game, the movie about Alan Turing. Really doesn’t help me to keep faith in humanity when you see that the guy who helped win WWII, saved about 14 million lifes AND is at the origin of all computers has been pushed to suicide because he was gay.
On those sad words, if you’ll excuse me, I now have to code an enigma machine, a Turing machine and then try to code something to break the enigma.

Very upsetting what happened to him and others. On the bright side, he would not have been treated the same way today. Humanity sucks a lot of the time but there has been progress on a lot of fronts.

Good movie that shows how deep inequality is written into humans mind.
But I prefer “The Island of Dr. Moreau” - it shows that despite education and technology we are still only animals. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I don't know if the movie stuck close to the truth or not, but the impression I got from the movie was that Turing was not "merely" homosexual. There was quite a lot going on his mind that made life and socialization very difficult for him.
