So I’m having an argument with my gf.

Is it “Why is 6 afraid of 7?” or “Why is 10 afraid of 7?”

I fucking said that 6 has not seen the action of 7 eating 9. But 10 has, therefore he is scared.

If we were to iterate from 0 to 10, we would see that 6 hasn’t seen shit.

Let’s print out each number if we iterate through and find a consecutive 7, 8 and 9 then print out “Oh shit 7 ate 9.”

0
1
2
3
4
5
6 // Hey honey I don’t see anything here??
7
8
9
Oh shit 7 ate 9
10 // Someone call the fucking police

Thoughts?

    I think the problem is that you care about this. 6 has no ability to 'see' anything since it's a fucking number.

    Furthermore I think the joke is: ”Why was 6 scared? Because 7 8 9!"
    It works best in numerical order. If we're commenting on 10 being scared then it's equally valid to mention how scared 12.256 was. Also, 6 is right next 7.

    6 is afraid coz after 7 8 9, 7 is @growling at him

    @DeadInside but at 7 8 9, even 10 is close to 7

    It depends on whether numbers were looking forward or backward

    Yay, numerical anthropomorphization.

    I remember it as "Why is 6 afraid of 7?"

    Because as a kid I would answer "7 is larger." Then you would say the joke.

    If you said "Why is 10 afraid of 7?" I could say "It isn't, 10 is larger." If you tried to say the joke after that...

    "7 8(ate) 9."

    I could say: "So? 10 is still larger than 9. Why does it matter?"

    Plus, numbers and counting order: 6789. Makes more sense than 10 789.

    @omigator Even if they looked forward, they wouldn’t. Index indicates time

    @Root numerical anthropomorphic vore

    It took me pretty long to get the joke because I was mentally counting in French
