So lately, I've been screen recording when I am working on my projects just for fun. I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS (Bionic Beaver) and SimpleScreenRecorder for screen recording. I'm using VidCutter for video editing but for some reason, it's giving me some errors and not able to save my edited videos. I don't want to do heavy video editing. I just want something like Windows movie make if some of you remember that.

Idk which of them have screen recording, but you could use OBS for that. Some basic video editors for linux: OpenShot, Avidemux, Shotcut and Kdenlive (not so basic, but free).

Same here. Its really interesting to see where I spend my time on when I'm programming.

Kdenlive is a bit overkill but simple to use, my own goto for editing, good luck

Thanks @lucaspar for the recommendations. Maybe I wasn't clear(my bad). I am using SimpleScreenRecorder for recording, I just wanted an easy-to-use-not-so-fancy video editor to edit the screen recorded vids :-) ...... i'll definetly try and see which one I can use from list you provided.
