To all those who love Linux more than Windows, I am with you.

But try using a Raspberry pi as your main computer and you can see why I want to deal with Windows hellhole again.

    What's wrong with it?

    @qwerty77asdf Cheap, slow as hell.
    Raspbian is a form of Debian, but different enough that you can’t install anything using commands that are used on a Debian system

    @Loading such as? I use mine just fine as a pc

    @ScribeOfGoD For game development, graphic design, things like that that are a large part of my life

    @Loading if you don't like Rasbian you can install a different OS on there or, if you want to go easy you can even put NOOBS back on there and choose one of the options from there.

    RPis aren't best used as a main machine if you are using it for anything that uses decent resources haha.

    You should still be able to install stuff with apt if you have internet, try using 'sudo apt-get update' and then 'sudo apt-get install [application]'.

    :)

    @Loading if you are developing graphical games or graphically designing RPis are not the way to go but you can put a linux distro onto another machine and all will be good. A good graphical design program for linux is GIMP.

    @qwerty77asdf Haha thanks for the advice. And yeah, I know how to use apt-get😊

    @qwerty77asdf Don’t know if I would consider Gimp good🤔

    Nope, not at all. That’s why I gotta get myself a real computer

    @Loading haha depends on what you use it for. For someone like me that does slight photo editing its good. But for someone like you, you're right, I'm sure it'd suck haha.

    Yeah I don’t have a large vocabulary so I had to look that up... Google didn’t help enough I’m still confused

    @Loading he's saying you're intentionally torching yourself-- for enjoyment.

    Yeah but for real, you can't compare a raspberry to a desktop computer or laptop as for performance...

    Did i fail to understand ? What would you expect from a $34 computer ? To launch some heavyweight software like gimp, inkscape etc smooth while also browsing the web on the bloatware called Chrome ? Or do you just want to have Adobe Photoshop and blame whole Linux and raspberry pi ?

    Here is the specifications of the latest version :

    Quad Core 1.2GHz Broadcom BCM2837 64bit CPU

    1GB RAM

    Here is some text i got from opensource.com :

    Creator Eben Upton's goal was to create a low-cost device that would improve programming skills and hardware understanding at the pre-university level.

    You get the idea. You expect too much.

    Go launch some heavy Python script or anything you want on both raspbian and w10-iot. If windows runs it dramatically faster, ( at least %50 faster ) i will take full responsibility.

    What version do you have as the latest can also run Windows haha

    Then run Windows on the raspberry pi and say that again ;)

    Uh, just install Linux on a regular computer LOL
